ĐÀ NẴNG — The city’s investment and planning department has officially launched a business registration service at home, saving time and travel costs for households and enterprises, offering completion in three working days.

The department’s business support division said all households and enterprises could apply for registration via email or phone from home, and the centre will process the request before sending documents to customers by post.

The centre said households and businesses should not come to the city’s administrative centre.

Đà Nẵng launched an e-Government system in 2014 to provide 1,196 online administration procedures, including one-stop shops, residential management, public transport and water supervision through the system.

According to the department, nearly 4,700 new enterprises in the city were established with registered investment capital of VNĐ23.4 trillion (US$1 billion) – a 7.3 per cent year-on-year growth – in 2019.

To date, the city has 19,500 enterprises, of which 90 per cent were small or medium scale, with total investment of $3.9 billion. Two investment sectors – property and education and training – saw increases of 40 per cent and 110 per cent growth, respectively.

The city plans to increase the number of businesses to 40,000 in 2020.

Đà Nẵng drew $690 million from 148 foreign direct investment projects including 132 new projects in 2019.

FDI businesses contributed 21 per cent of the city budget annually. — VNS
