HCM CITY — Generali Vietnam handed over warm clothes, financial support and New Year gifts to 300 disadvantaged children and families in Bắc Hà District, Lào Cai Province in northwest Việt Nam - a province badly hit by cold weather.
The donation was part of the “Tết ấm cho em” (A Warmer Lunar New Year for Children) campaign organised by Generali Vietnam and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children ahead the Tết ( Lunar New Year) holiday.
Generali Vietnam’s volunteers also visited and handed over gifts to 300 disadvantaged families of Mông, Dao, Nùng, Tày and Phù Lá ethnic communities in Bắc Hà District, Lao Cai Province. The programme aims to share the burden with the children’s families so they can enjoy a warm, fulfilling and happy New Year. Each gift set includes cash, a warm jacket, necessities and a “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” parenting booklet.
Funding for the programme comes from a series of innovative and practical fundraising activities organised by Generali Vietnam. In addition, many Generali Vietnam’s staff and agents also participated in a blood donation drive organised by the company and HCMC Hospital of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, contributing to the city's blood bank to support medical treatment and life-saving activities.
Generali Vietnam and CEO Tina Nguyễn recently were honored by the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for their outstanding contributions to children’s well-being and protection in 2020, especially its parenting education programme “Sinh Con, Sinh Cha” (Born Children, Born Parents). Also in 2020, Generali Vietnam was awarded the “Saigon Times CSR 2020” certification. — VNS
